Art Exhibit in Miami
It's been over ten years since I've submitted any of my work to a gallery, exhibit, or contest of any kind. Most contests these days are really nothing more than a rights grab for the competition to collect photos that they can use for anything from stock images to national ad campaigns. It's gotten so bad that Photoshelter wrote a blog about it in 2013, which evolved into a yearly guide to help professionals keep their work out of harm's way.
Aside from that, I've just been incredibly busy! Which is a good thing. But this year I decided to stop making excuses and submit my work to an ASMP-sponsored Juried Exhibition at the Andy Gato Gallery in Miami, FL. The Exhibition features artists from all over who were able to submit up to 10 images. Since it was open category, an artist or photographer could reach into their entire library of work, which for some, span several decades.
Without further ado, I'm proud to announce that three of my submissions were accepted and will be available in a limited run prints. They are all metallic finish and mounted on a special frameless backing, ready-to-hang, but each will include a premium version that is printed on metal for an incredibly durable and unique look. You can see them in person at the Andy Gato Gallery (Barry University) in Miami Florida from September 23 - November 25.
